April 5th, 2063 was released a few months ago and I had some more thoughts about the album art I chose and AI in art in general.

When it was first released, the album art was AI generated, and at the time I thought that was cool. In fairness, the album cover fit the aesthetics of the piece- it was surreal, spacey, and nostalgic. However, I now realize that AI should never replace human artists and I was wrong to give it the role that I did in the creative process.

Art is a two-way process, in that its meaning is caused by both the intent of the artist and the subjective response of the audience. So long as AI has no intent, no art it creates can be considered valuable. It can be considered "neat," or "cool," or "novel," but it is not meaningful. Sentient AI (or AGI if you're a pedantic dweeb) is a different topic that I can't speak on, though I'm not certain there even is someone who could.

Anyways, April 5th, 2063 is getting a little bit of a facelift because I rushed the master to get it out on the date of its namesake. Also, I just started feeling that the track had more to say than what I included in its initial release. The track "Abyssal" from my album Doom is also getting remixed to take it closer to its logical endpoint, and there may or may not be a music video coming out for it soon... stay tuned!
